DIES IN REVERSE

I'd guess that a damaged air intake duct could be leaking unmetered air into the air intake and when put into reverse the engine rocks and opens the crack and lets air in, stalling the engine. Just a wild guess, nobody can tell you for sure what's wrong without seeing the car so take it back and let them fix it.
