those code readers do just that- read codes..you will need a scanner that has data stream...did you check fuel pressure?

Have the codes checked. You may have an idle control component that is going bad.

Thank you for all of your replies. Check engine light came on and is reading code p0300. A mechanic came out and says it's the fuel pump. I am wondering if this sounds right.
