get the 40 amp fuse out immediately. you risk an electrical fire by allowing more current than the wire can handle. why do you think they have different size fuses?? anyway, it may be the fuel pump pulling too much current. have a shop check it out and give you a bid Roy

Mastertech is right. You risk the chance of causing a fire. The fuel pump is drawing too much current or working harder than it should be. Have you replaced the fuel filter?
