I can hear the chain slaping on my wifes 2000 Sebring convertible The engine is a 2.5 v6. The owners manual lists adjusting the timing chain as a periodic maintainance item, but I don't know what to do,can you tell me?

take it to a shop and have the belt checked. it probably needs replacing. if you tighten the tension, it will more than likely break and cause major damage to the motor. Roy
