I know that I need all the struts replaced, have been told twice by auto shops....but I think they are asking too much when it appears that the struts should only cost around $70-$90 each. What is the fair cost for replacement of all 4 struts?

The struts do probably cost the shop about $90 ea. You should also replace the strut mount and then there is labor and tax that needs to be considered. Our shop charges about $450 per strut. Which includes profit on the part sale, labor and tax. Labor is probably less expensive in MI that outside of Washington, DC, but a fair price would $325 - $375 per strut and mount replaced.
I have a 2006 Sebring and am a DIY You Tube learned mechanic. I am looking into replacing the rear myself. The rear is much easier than the front and may cost $150 or $200 for both complete struts. There are many You Tube videos that show how to replace struts on Sebrings. Otherwise, mechanics love to charge big time labor for this.
