when i push the gas pedal the car wont go, and when i let my foot off it crawls very slowly on its own. sometime it will jolt into gear when gas is pressed. Where do I start?

This could be any number of things. It could be a fuel filter, your throttle position sensor, or even an emission system problem. Do you have any dashboard warning lights? The best thing to do is to find a quality shop that is good at diagnosis.
