What is your question?
All doors are unlocked but when pressing on the rear hatch touch pad the hatch will not open. I neede to open with the key in the back hatch. YOu need to turn the key while opening the back. Is this the touch pad or something inside the door. Do I need to go to the dealer for this repair?

Once the inner back panel is removed while you're laying in the cargo area, look at the mechanical latch housing at the bottom of the hatch (from inside)and locate the switch at the back of the latch. Push the switch to the right to mechanically unlatch the door. This will make removal and replacement of the latch and solenoid (located above the latch) easier.
The Touch Pad is part of the exterior handle assembly. While it is most likely the touch pad, it could be a wiring issue as well, I would suggest you take your vehicle to your local dealer for inspection and diagnosis as they are best equipped and trained to perform this.
2008 PT Pad Switch only.. Won't open. Chrysler dealer advised me that the only way to open the hatch is to destroy the hatch interior plastic panel and replace the switch then replace the hatch interior panel. Non-warranty could be a VERY expensive fix. After fix I am going to install an additional switch to open the hatch on the INSIDE of the vehicle.
My problem solved. On the 2008 TOURING Model, if you remove the interior trim panel on the DRIVERS SIDE between the hatch window and the side window there is a wiring loom & connector. If you apply a momentary ground to the Brown wire WITH a Green tracer the hatch lock will activate. I used a grounded wire with a safety pin to poke through the wire insulation. You may need another person to lift the hatch from the outside when the latch is activated. NOTE: Other years and models MAY be different. Consult wiring diagram, dealer or technician to confirm this. USAGE OF THIS INFORMATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
