What is your question?
Engine light has been one for almost two months, went to get checked at autozone, said either gas cap is loose or maybe a tune up in need, did not reset the check engine light. Noticed over the past few weeks that my car takes several seconds to turn on sometimes, two days ago, I was taking a friend home and pulled down their driveway, I was turning the car around in reverse and it cut off while in motion... This is the first time it has happened and idk what I need to do or what's wrong with it? Any suggestions?

There are a BUNCH of suggestions, however this is the best one I can think of.... Time for a real mechanic to have a look at it!.. Sometimes you just gotta do it!!
First thing is definitely get to a parts store and have them read the code or MIL that the computer has stored. That will give you the answer for the problem plaguing your car. Look up that number on the internet(type in the code # and info for vehicle)and see what it the number says is the problem. Best place to start as oppose ot doing guess work like in the days gone by.
That's already been done according to the posted question It's time to bite the bullet and see the mechanic!.. We can save the customer money most of the time...That's a proven fact!
They were very vauge in what the code represented and did not give a number. I am not ASE but do have 3 and keep them running well. Charges are way out of line for simple repairs to these cars.
I'm sure they are in certain areas... It's just that I see so many folks wasting money by throwing parts on that are not needed... Mess something up in the process.. Then have to bring it in to the shop and we have to correct that mistake THEN start on the original problem!.. That's MY point here. These online advice tips are ok if they are of any direct value, if not then it just makes the problem worse by influencing the reader to try repairs that are not needed and quite frankly, over their head!.. Hands-on TESTING is the key to any successful repair!!.. I've been doing this for a VERY long time and that hasn't changed since I started back in the early 70's. Ps.. I never have boosted about ASE.. It simply means I passed a test! The E for excellence comes from years of experence..not a test!
I have definitely taken this to get codes for it which basically was the gas cap loose or a tune up. I had spoke with my grandparents regarding this. They thought it might be the weight of my keys, but I don't see that as the issue. I barely had anything on them and had them on for quite sometime no problem. The car runs fine. Sometimes it does take a minute for the car to start up and then of course it shutting off while in motion definitely through me for a loop as well. My dad is a mechanic but is currently on vacation. This is why I asked. I would definitely not want to drive the vehicle again and it shut off the while in town or interstate. I just thought maybe somebody might have some idea of what this might be. I am also gonna have my dad look at it when he gets back. My check engine light stays on and beeps at me and flashes. It has been that way for probably three months now but car runs fine. Hopefully we can figure this one out.
You're lucky to have a Dad and a mechanic all in one!!.. I'm sure he will know what to do...it'll run it's own diagnostics using the key off, key on method but a full scan test is needed...he'll know..Good luck with it!.. Just a little something to watch..
