Vapor lock is a thing of the past since high pressure fuel injection became standard equipment .. Even in the past a weak low pressure mechanical fuel pump was the actual culprit. This is going to require **hands-on** testing to determine exactly what has failed.
It sounds like it's your ASD (Automatic Shut Down) relay it does a whole lot more then just shut the car down Multi-Function Relay: A/C Clutch, Automatic Shut Down, Electronic Transmission Control Module [EATX], Fuel Pump, Horn, Radiator Fan, Starter Starter Relay Kit; Mopar Relay. So relays are on the driver's side on the fire wall. When facing the front of the care count from right to left 5 ... the far left relay is the ASD relay. Hope it solves your issue!
