Will a leaking power steering pressure line cause pump to go bad ?

When the fluid runs low you will here a whinning noise coming from the pump, but not all the time. Park the car and slip a pc. of cardboard from a box or boxes wide enough to fit under the engine bay. Overnight the presure will cause the leak and drip onto the board. If you suspect where, place the board under to pin pt. that spot. More than likly you can cut the clamp off (I used my dremel or grinder) and replace that hose that is leaking.
