OMG yes, you should take it to a good repair shop for placement. They come blank and have to be flashed with your car's specifics. The shop hools up their computer to the car and flashes it via the Manufacturer. Cost be 100 dollars for install and flashing, got my unit from Amazon. Another 100 was to diagnosis it.
Parts store will need the id numbers on the PCM itself!... There are places to get one online... However if something is wrong... Then what??... Strongly suggest getting it from local parts store!!... They can get one that's ready for plug & play!!... Remember...It is YOUR'S once it's ordered!!!!!
Thanks for the reply, the reason I asked is because someone said they had to go to the dealer for there vehicle because the dealer had to merge it with there key. I'm definitely going to a local parts store for the pcm and not buying one online. Thank you for the information.
Sure!
