tried the shifter override and didn't work. still wont move out of park?

Hello, If the over-ride switch will not work, there is probably physical damage to the shift-interlock mechanism, even if the solenoid still works. You will either need to remove the shift boot and inspect, or have it diagnosed. If you move the shift boot and push the shifter release you should be able to see movement where the solenoid is located, and move it with a screwdriver. The car will start in park or neutral, so avoiding park will work until you get it into the shop. Park on flat surfaces, and make sure your wheels are blocked plus the parking brake.
