new battery put in ,turns over then stalls unless i give it gas. Foot off pedal and stalls.battery was dead for a week.

Could a vacuum hose got knocked off while the battery was being installed? Some cars need to go through an "idle relearn" process after a battery has been replaced but I had not heard of the older LeBarons needing to go through a relearn process. Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info. and get an online repair manual subscription.
