neither brake light in the tail light area works. Tail lights work and the middle brake light in the window works but neither of the regular brake lights work and dont know why

Check the bulbs first. If they're OK, check the wiring and connectors for problems. it's a fairly simple circuit and the power to the center light and the brake light is from the same circuit, it powers center as well as right and left brakelights. If the bulbs are good, check for power (when your assistant steps on the brake) and ground at the brakelights.
