What is your question?
I’ve run into the issue of not being able to put my 2008 Chrysler Aspen in gear (5.7 Hemi Automatic 2WD) I was leaving a store when I put my car in into gear it feels like the column shifter sort of slipped, and when I went to put it back into park, I sort of had to use some force and snapped the shift cable where it meets the column shifter. I had to get a tow home, and the guy tries to put it in neutral from under the car and no dice. When I got home I tried the same thing, and still nothing. I’ve bought the shift cable but I’m not sure if it’ll fix my problem with getting the transmission in gear. Has anyone had to fix an issue like this before? Will update once I get the new trans cable in. Another user had this same exact issue but has not end result, here’s what it says :” My chrysler aspen is stuck in gear.. I changed the gear shifter cable because it ended up being broke but even with the new one on its still stuck in drive or 1st gear not sure which. Tried to move it by hand on
How long has your 2008 Chrysler Aspen had this problem?

You might not like the answer here, but it sounds like a professional technician is required in order to sort out what's going on and make repairs. Sure, I appreciate the fact that you are technically inclined and are trying to resolve this concern on your own. But it sounds like there might be something else going on here which caused the slipping in the first place and would make attempting to install the cable a futile effort.
