a few weeks ago i was driving in town and the car was driving fine when all of a sudden the check engine light came on, the rpm's jumped real high, and the car dropped down into second gear. It has stayed in second gear ever since. it has changed gears twice but ended up to the same thing all over again. I changed the speed sensors on the transmission, changed the transmission filter and transmission fluid. Any idea what else it might could be?

A little concerning that your check engine light is on. Something else in the emission control system could be failing, which is throwing your car into a limp mode. It may have nothing to do with the transmission. http://repairpal.com/check-engine-light Best advice I can offer: go to a technician and get diagnosis on the trouble codes throwing the check engine light and go from there.
