difficulty replacing crankshaft position sensor

Try using some WD40 to provide some lubrication to help it slide in as it is a precise fit. It should go back in , how did you get it out? Is it upside down? You may have to rotate it a little, as it may not be perfectly round. I hope that these suggestions help you .
