What is your question?
I have a 99' 300M. The ABS and Trac off light doesn't illuminate when you start the car, however the traction control will work for about ten feet then shuts down. Seems like a hefty voltage draw as well when the systems shuts down. I can't override the system it shuts down every time I put the car into reverse or drive and move it approximately 10 feet. I had this vehicle inspected at dealership and said to start with the battery. I replaced the battery, cable ends and still the problem persists. If you have any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated since I live in Wisconsin! Thank You.

I cannot say for sure, as a diagnosis is truly in order. However, the traction control operates with the same components and principles as the ABS system. If your system sees something it does not like, it will shut down to protect you driving the car. If it did not, and a fault is present, the ABS and traction control could actually hinder your ability to stop or control your vehicle. So it shuts down. I suspect a wheel sensor has failed, or has corrosion to the point of signal loss. A good diagnosis will pin point and identify the faulty component. Best of luck.
Thanks for the prompt reply. I had it on a OBD computer and there is a variance in voltage so the dealership said. However the first scan reported ABS hyd. pump failure. It's truly a frustating and annoying problem. I would have thought it might be a voltage regulator however there is no listing for one on these cars. Thankyou for your time and input!
Voltage regulators are internal to the alternator on nearly every car today. Still, check your peak amperage and peak voltage - 2000 RPM - check for 13.9 to 14.0 volts or more, and amps probably approaching 100 peak. The car would really have to have a very low output to cause the power loss that would condemn the ABS HCU. It could unfortunately need one. Keep checkin'...
