What is your question?
The rear camera on my 2016 Chrysler 300 was not working. I did a factory reset in the settings, turned the car off and then restarted vehicle and the rear camera was working again. However, when I press the right rear camera button the truck opens. Why is this happening?
How long has your 2016 Chrysler 300 had this problem?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Well, that’s a new one—pressing the camera button and getting an impromptu trunk pop. Sounds like your Uconnect system or body control module (BCM) got its wires crossed after the reset. Sometimes, a factory reset can scramble input signals, making buttons do things they were never meant to do—like turning your backup camera into a trunk release. Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to force a full system reboot. If that doesn’t fix it, the BCM or infotainment system might need a software update from Chrysler. At least your trunk isn’t opening every time you hit the brakes… yet. When the backup camera failed to work, I first tried cleaning the rear camera lens when I noticed that pressing the right sided camera acted like a truck release and this happened before the reset was actually done. After the reset, the backup camera was working fine again but pressing the right sided camera still was releasing the truck. Does this scenario problem change the advice? Please advise, thanks, Louis
