My 2004 Chevy Venture has a major problem with all of the gauges, the speedometer, tempature and fuel gauge just sit on "0", all the time. I took it in for an oil change and asked for them to look into it (did not take it to Chevy) and they charged me $120 to tell me that it was a "system update" or a "recall" on the gauges and I would have to take it to Chevy. Does anyone know about any sort of system update/recall and if not, do you know what needs to be replaced to correct this problem? Thank you!!

I cannot find any service bulletins or recalls related to the issue with the gauges on your 2004 Chevrolet Venture Van. I know GM has had some problems with the gauges on some of their other vehicles. The fix for those was to send the gauges "cluster" out to a specialized repair facility for repair. I would recommend that you get a second opinion, perhaps at the Chevy dealer.
