How to, and price for replacing coils

Are you sure its the coils and not the ignition control module? You do not want to touch them until you have disconnected the negative cable from the battery. Remove the engine cover by twisting out the oil filler neck then pull up and forward on the cover. Label the spark plug wires with masking tape and numbering so you put them back onto the coils in the correct order. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition module. Remove the ignition coil/module mounting bolts and remove the coil pack from the engine. You can replace all or one depending on if you know which one is bad. Replace the coil onto the module and reinstall the whole thing in the same position as that when you removed it. Reconnect the sparkplug wires you numbered onto their counterparts. Don't forget to reconnect the electrical connectors before putting the engine cover back on to the top of the motor. The coil packs can run from twenty bucks a piece to ninety depending. Call your local automotive parts store and check with them. They will need the date of manufacture and the size of the motor you have. I think it is simple but you have to evaluate your own skills to determine if you want to try something likes this. Oh, the auto parts store will run codes on your vehicle if you can get it to them. This will help you determine if it might be the coils. I would have the ICM checked first. Hope this helps. Use caution when doing something you are not familiar with.
