some times the key won't start the engine. You turn the key off and on several times it will start. Know the service theft detterent system light stays on all the time in the dash. I tried the extra set of keys but no change ,light on dash still stays on. What is the issue and fix?

When the vehicle starts, does that light go out? The only thing I can think of is some kind of interference being able to read the chips in the keys. Make sure no magnetic devices are anywhere near the ignition. Besides that, testing needs to be performed at the time of failure.
