First you must test your battery to determine if it is charged fully and able to sustain a load. It must pass the test before testing anything else. Once you have a known good battery, you can continue on to checking you're charging system. Electrical equipment is required to verify voltage output and amperage output of the alternator and charging system, preferably when the engine speed is at 2000 RPM.
