Can a diagnostic code be old and not a concern?

What is your question?

I recently had the Tire Pressure Monitoring System light come on but it went off. It's still reading correctly. I took the vehicale to a auto store to have the Fix Finder tool used to lookup Diagnostic Trouble codes. Code P0989 came up but I don't have any engine lights or transmission issues. Could this be an old code?
