What is your question?
Nose of old starter broke in pieces. After clearing all pieces out and replacing it doesn't start. What would have caused it to break at all? Why won't it start now?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your starter nose shattered into pieces, it's usually a sign of something mechanical going haywire, like the engine not turning over smoothly or the flywheel being damaged. The flywheel could have missing or damaged teeth that made the starter catch wrong, which caused the break. As for why it won't start now, the new starter might not be engaging properly—either it’s not aligned, the flywheel’s still the issue, or there’s some other electrical gremlin in the system, like a bad ground or a weak battery.
