If you can hold back the fan blades with gloves on and a rag (be CAREFUL!!) when the engine is running hot and the fanblades don't drive hard when released you have a bad fan clutch. Often a bad clutch will seem to drive OK when cold but when warmed up doesn't function and if it doesn't drive hard hot it's bad. Drive the car to warm it up so there's airflow to get the fan clutch hot. I checked and found $280 labor and $470 for the part. Sounds like a lot to me so call around but make sure you get the right fanclutch because sometimes you can buy a cheap one that doesn't work well enough. Here are a directory link and an estimator link for you. https://repairpal.com/estimator/chevrolet/trailblazer https://repairpal.com/chevrolet-repair-in-independence-ohio
on the chevy trailblazor 4.2 the clutch fan is electronic do not hold that fan when that fan goes bad it sounds like a jet taking off its the electronic piece on the front of the clutch fan in order to fix it you have to replace the entire clutch fan
