The door lock fob works, but the key won't turn in the lock. What's wrong?
What is your question?
Awhile ago I noticed that the door lock key would intermittently not work. The key fob as always worked. Then the key would work, there was no resistance or acted anything but normal, however when the key would not turn at all. This went on for some months. It seemed like temperature made a difference. Now it is completely dead, unless on rare occasion on a warm day it decides to work. What is wrong. Is it the actuator? Door switch module? Something else?

The fob WORKS! They key won't turn. I am thinking that when the key is inserted into the lock successfully, there is an electrical connection that allows the key then to turn when it is the proper key profile. Any advice on this? Sometimes the key has worked just fine with no resistance. At other times, there is absolutely no movement.
sounds like there is a sticky lock cylinder there is no electrical components inside the lock spray dry graphite into key hole work key back and forth try different key if you have 2
the dealer has already made a new key…. same thing. He did try graphite too. Is it possible that there is an electrical connection when you stick the key in… like there is in the ignition. When I stick the key in the ignition without turning the key to on, I can actually drain the battery because there is some kind of electrical connection just by sticking the key in. I wonder if there is something like that in the door lock/actuater link????
