What is your question?
After sitting in the driveway all night (running fine the day prior) I hop in and go. I drive it a mile at approx 25-35 mph and It runs in 2nd and 3rd gear seemingly fine. I stop at the first stop sign I come to. When I press the accelerator again, its like the vehicle is in neutral. Putting it in reverse or any other gear it still revs like its in neutral. If I turn the car off for 10 minutes, and try to drive it again, it works fine for a couple minutes until I come to a stop sign or traffic light. Not sure if I should look into this further or consider junking it. The SUV is in pristine condition and I bought it 5 days ago for $2175 from a mom and pop car lot "as-is". Any thoughts if it may be something simple like a solenoid, a filter, etc? The SUV is showing a problem code (cant remember which code, but it is referencing a coolant temperature issue (thermostat or coolant temp sensor issue). I wasnt sure if this issue would be related to the tranny issue or is a separate problem.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Letting it sit for a bit makes it better for a short time
How long has your 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT had this problem?

Any attempt at online diagnosis would be moot as this requires *hands-on* testing by qualified personnel. Fluid pressure testing along with a comprehensive scan test is the only way to determine what has failed. Good luck with it!
