What is your question?
Drove to the store one day. Came out, started my truck, shifted into reverse and my truck would not move. Shifted it into drive, it would not move. Mechanic says there are no codes showing for my transmission, and that my problem is electrical. The thing that confuses me is that, he also said the mechanical problem is inside my transmission. I dont understand that.
What makes this problem better or worse?
nothing
How long has your 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT had this problem?
Just happened one random day

Well I don’t know to what extent this was checked out - BUT - these vehicles have a notorious problem with the shifter cable becoming detached from the transmission linkage.. I must assume this “mechanic” would be aware if this common problem and would have expressed so if that were the case.. Good luck!
One easy way to test : Try cranking the engine while the shifter is in drive or reverse - - IF engine starts then the shifter cable is definitely the culprit! That failure is also easily repaired using a repair kit - at a very low cost. Maybe I’m wrong and YOUR “mechanic” is right (?) (?) Again - Good luck!
