Hello, This is going to be a little tricky, but follow with me and I'll tell you what I think is happening. The water pump, power steering pump and alternator all run from the same belt. So, if one of those components is creating too much drag on the belt, the belt may slip. If you are turning and the battery light is coming on when the engine is overheating, I assume that is while the vehicle is sitting still. One of the pulleys on the belt may be close to seizing. Do you hear any strange sounds under the hood, like whirring, howling, or grinding? Does the battery light come on if you are turning lightly while driving? Does the light come on if you turn on the air conditioner?
