What is your question?
There are no sounds at all, but today we noticed it happened after the engine was gunned due to a tailgater. It also happened after hitting a pothole tonight They do not go all the way off they just flutter. I does happen more often upon start-up than while in motion It has no pattern that has been evident as to why it does this at at start up. The check engine light came on today, so we took it to the parts shop to have the code read it came up po455 evaporative emissions system leak detected (gross leak/no flow). We also have noticed it is running rough (shakey) it does not die out just rough. There is no smell from a fuel vapor leak. I work overnight and I have to drive in the dark going to and from work. I am concerned that they will go out while I am on the road.
How long has your 2000 Chevrolet Tracker had this problem?
a few days no more than ten days

Hello, your headlight situation is completely separate from any check engine light situation. For the headlights -- check at your headlight switch. The switch could have a concern with the switch itself or the wiring connector that plugs into the switch. If it has overheated, wiring and the connector itself could be damaged, causing the lights to not always illuminate correctly. The evaporative emissions system needs to be checked for your P0455 code -- first, ensure your fuel filler cap is clicked and secure. Other than that, testing will need to be performed to see where the system leak is. Your rough running is yet another possible concern that will require engine performance testing.
