What is your question?
The head lights and dash lights flicker off and on . . , and service engine light goes on for a week or two and then goes off. Sometimes lights don't flicker, sometimes they do. Also, sometimes it feels like when I hit the gas pedal it's hesitating . . .
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing, it comes and goes, the flickering and service engine light coming on for a week or 2, then going off for a week or 2.
How long has your 1999 Chevrolet Tracker had this problem?
A few months.

Hello, the engine light usually does not have anything to do with a charging system issue. However, low electrical system voltage and amperage can also cause check engine lights to come on, as certain modules are too low in electrical power to operate properly. I would say, though, that you clearly have a concern with engine performance that requires troubleshooting to resolve. Seek guidance at a local shop near you to find out what's going on. Hi, thank you for your response . . . I did get the alternator replaced and the flickering lights have stopped . . . But the "service engine soon" light remains on for about 30+ miles, then goes off for about the same amount of miles . . . He said when he checked with the ECM, it said everything was fine . . . But still the light goes off and on after so many miles . . . What do you think?
