What is your question?
Purchased 2017 Tahoe in Feb 2021. I've never used the trailer brake system. The evening of Jan 17 my SUV was slow to start. Later required a jump start at grocery. The "Service Trailer Brake System" displayed, as well as other messages after being jumped. I clicked dismiss of the messages one by one. The morning of Jan 18 my SUV started as normal, but I still had both the battery and alternator tested at two different auto parts stores. Both battery and alternator were found to be functioning normal and met voltage requirements by both auto parts stores. In the evening of this same day, after my SUV had been sitting at a car wash for over an hour, my SUV started up with no issues, but the "Service Trailer Brake System" message displayed again. Only this message displayed. Other than getting my SUV serviced by a professional, should I replace the battery? Or should I replace the trailer brake switch from out of the dash? Or should I replace both?
How long has your 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe had this problem?

Hello, this still sounds like a "low voltage" concern from a battery that isn't handling the load properly, or being recharged properly during operation. Certainly there could be some kind of concern with your trailer brake system - but I'd say it's more likely that low voltage is the root cause of your concern. Have that battery checked more closely at a repair shop - not a parts store. Use this link to find some shops near you that can help with your concern: www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
