Interior lights come on while driving

The interior lights keep coming on as if the door is open. We open and shut the door and the lights go out for a few seconds and turn back on, this is only happening to the front passenger door. It appears that the door contact on the passenger side is not working properly. I had this problem last year and sprayed W-D 40 and the problem went away till now, this method is not working this time around. Any suggestions? Thank you
