is there a way to get my anti theft radio code since the 800 number is down?

I lost power to my 01 chevy suburban and the radio shows LOC on the display. I do not have the code to unlock it because i bought it from a friend and he doesn't remember what the code was and it shows nothing in the owner's manual about the code or how to even reset the radio. I have found in my research that i can either A. Pay some dealership to reprogram it (for $150) pay some guy on the internet from michigan ($19.99) for the code. B. pull out the radio and take a chip out of it. Or C.take off the face of the radio and hit a reset button. I would like to not pay anything or take out/apart the radio as that is not my area of expertise. I would love if someone could help me with this.
