What is your question?
I have a 2019 Chevy Spark. Lately whenever I go to turn the car off, the key will get stuck in the ignition. I can turn the key halfway before it won't turn anymore and is stuck in place.
What makes this problem better or worse?
I have to use a small screwdriver and push in to the small hole under the steering wheel. With just enough applied pressure to just the right spot I am then able to turn the key the rest of the way and turn the car off.
How long has your 2019 Chevrolet Spark had this problem?
Roughly 3 months so far.

Hi this is Dusty, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team. It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with your Spark. When the key(s) gets stuck and can only be released by inserting a tool into the release hole, it typically indicates a problem with the ignition lock cylinder or key. When car keys (or the tumblers in the ignition cylinder) are worn or damaged, it can cause improper or insufficient engagement with the tumblers, causing them to get stuck. Sometimes, the key gets stuck due to a lack of lubrication inside the ignition cylinder. Try spraying a small amount of electrical contact cleaner or graphite lubricant into the keyhole and then insert and remove the key several times to distribute the lubricant. If you're not comfortable performing the above steps yourself, or if the problem persists after attempting them, it's best to have a qualified shop evaluate the issue. Given this issue has been ongoing for several months and requires manual intervention to release the key, it's important to address them promptly to avoid potential inconvenience or safety hazards.
