Hi, I recently had that issue with my 2013 chevy sonic lt @71k miles. The problem was a high and low purge leak, i used my OBDII scanner and it read the purge solenoid was bad. I bought a brand new purge solenoid valve on ebay from ACDelco for less than 25 bucks. When removing the old one you have to disconnect the batterie since you are dealing with a solenoid that runs on 9 volts I believe. It's very simple to find the purge valve solenoid, it will be under the hood be the fuel injector area and it will look have a red clip you detach it from both sides and replace and the new one. Once u have installed the new one go ahead and connect the batterie and crank it up, the car might choke 1 or 2 times but after driving it for 20 miles or so check engine light will go off and it won't choke. It's common on the chevy (GMC) 2007 models and up when they have reached over 67k miles and up. Hope this helps out
The injectors and the purge solenoid are in the same location. It's hard to pinpoint which is ticking since they sound similar. They do have a loud tick, and it's nothing to be concerned about if nothing else is wrong. Par for the course.
