My service 4 wheel drive light is on what do I do to fix it?
What is your question?
We changed the transfer case and now it says service 4 wheel drive and when you change it to 2 wheel drive to four wheel drive it doesn't light up. Any ideas?
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Checked all the fuses. Need to make a correction the service light came on right b4 the transfer case locked down. We tested the wire to actuator and power and one time it'll have power and the next it won't.
At the shop, we see a lot of problems with the *dash switch* set on these vehicles! .. Now I can't say that's your problem but it's certainly one to consider! .. Transfer case module can be scan tested using proper 'scan tool' .. Code readers won't help, can't communicate...... Good luck with it!
We fixed it. Come to find out we had to have the computer flashed so it'd register the new transfer case. Had to take it to dealership to have that done. Hope this helps someone else and thanks for all the answers.
Evidently you must have replaced the *electrical components* along with the transfer case, such as the encoder .. The *mechanical hard parts* (transfer case itself) would NOT have made nary bit of difference because the module can not monitor that, it's just metal parts!!! .... That re-flash problem was there all along, not just after the t-case was installed! Oh well, whatever - as long as it's working.........for now.
