service 4wd light is on and 2wd is lit up on switch, but switch does nothing.

02 Silverado 4wd service light is on and 2wd is lit up. Put in new switch and it does nothing when trying to engage any of the functions with switch , indicator light in switch won’t even flash when trying to engage 4wd just stays lit in 2wd
