It was at the garage having brakes done and when it was backed out it was blowing gray smoke and some oil from the exhaust pipe. It was a quart low on oil according to the mechanic and he added one and I and I had put a quart in a coupe of days prior, there is no water on the dip stick and none coming out the exhaust. It has never used oil between oil changes before. The engine is running as smooth as it ever had and not overheating. It idles with 40 pounds of oil pressure. When it is idling there is very little smoke but if I rev it up any, smoke pours out of the exhaust.

Check engine COOLANT level.. Possible failed head gasket and it’s ’STEAM’ you’re seeing instead.. Exhaust would have a sweet - antifreeze smell - steam dissipates rather quickly as opposed to oil smoke which lingers.. *Head gasket can fail without any evidence of coolant in oil* Good luck!
