Have check engine, the computer says it needs the shift solenoid, the problem is it will not shift from 2nd to 3rd gear on an automatic transmission. Also found a vacuum line near to transmission disconnected but not sure where it goes. How much is the cost to replace them? Do I need a new transmission? It turns on fine and shifts fine from 1st to 2nd gear. Has close to 250,000 miles, never had transmission problem before.

2004 Silervado. Just had my transmission fluid flushed and filled and now my transmission is acting up. Slow shifting from 2 to 3. Cannot run on highway. No Check Engine but dealer says may need shift solenoid. Did they mess something up?
I have the same issue with my 1992 dodge caravan and already replaced the high speed sensor . Is the shift solenoid the same thing as shift modulator which is the only other part I can think of that could be causing the car o pop out of Drive after it warms up and then wont let it go back into drive . I can only drive in 2nd and get HORRID gas mileage , WHAT DID YOU DO FOR YOURS ?? help needed badly and only replies here are for same problem NO SOLUTIONS . I bought this to rescue dogs and cant get out of town to pick up dogs from high kill shelters car has only 150,000 miles and runs awesome otherwise , I really NEED HELP to fix this as cheaply as possible as Im a disabled woman on fixed income who volunteers tpo help death row dogs and CANT GO OVER 40 mph HELP PLEASE I cant afford a new car
2000 Isuzu rodeo won't shift into 3rd gear never had any signs of the Tranny going bad jusy woke up got in my truck an it started .ot will sometimes go into 3rd gear an so forth but 90% od the time iit won't go . no leaks but prior to my truck acting up my engine made a weird winning sound not load or hardly noticeable but only to someone whom drive it all the time never heard it make that sound an likw i saI'd never had any signs of it going bad b4 so curious to know if anyone has experience this b4 what they had to do to fix to me i jutst feel it's a minor situation that needs fixed i hope someone can help it's an automatic 2000 lotsa miles
I have a 2000 chevy tahoe 4×4 5.3 I'm having shifting problems coming from my 2nd gear not shifting my 1st gear to 2nd shifts fine no problems at all shifts good but from 2nd to 3rd won't shift at all I've replaced both 1-2,2-3 shift solenoids new trans filter and fluid but still no 2nd gear anyone have any ideas how to fix any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
I have the exact same issue on my 01 tahoe 5.3 4×4 ....did you figure out the solution for the cause? Mine happened out of no where just stopped going into 3rd. 2nd fine. Thanks
