Blower did make noise on settings 1-4 so I assume it was ready to go anyway.

NO!pull the blower motor resistor out and look it over,it most likely burnt.blower motor could be going out also if making a noise,unless GREMLINS IN BLOWER WHEEL,check both.
make sure u change ur duct air filter too, literally they have filters in the hvac duct.
Ok, what will i be looking for? I see a resistor is cheaper than the blower. Should I just buy resistor ? Is it easy to install? If i just replace blower does resistor come with it any way? What controls the various speeds? Need to fix ASAP before I it stops completely
