if you get some lithium spray lube and wedge yourself down under the dash to where the pedal assembly is, take a good look at the pedal assembly. You'll see a cogged plate that's part of the pedal. Follow that cogged plate up to where the pull handle is located and attached to that handle rod you'll see the lock that engages to that cogged plate. Start spraying there while pulling the handle back & forth. You'll see that it'll free up and begin relocking to that cogged plate.
there is a small catch at the back of the release cable if you push it toward the floor board the pedal catch will engage, I am not sure if oiling it will solve the problem, mine's been doin that for years and I just reach up there actually now without even lookin and trip it down, push the pedal and go on. Hope this helps.
Yes that did help. I followed the pull wire that is connected to the brake release pull thingy and at the end of the wire was this rocker arm that attached to the wire. It would pull up but would not fully release. It must have been filled with dirt or something. Anyways when I would manually push it back the emergency brake pedal would engauge every time. So long story short I just sprayed all up in it with some good ol WD40 and low and behold it snaps back in place like it was never broken. No need for any manual manipulation. Thanks you two for the info. That damn brake has been making me swear out loud for several months. Not anymore.
