Hello, your initial concern sounds like possibly from a lack of electrical power, such as from a battery that is not capable of holding a charge or sustaining a load, or possibly even a charging system issue not maintaining proper battery power. Your notes kind of indicate you're replaced the battery and alternator, so it sounds like that issue with the vehicle not starting at least has been resolved. As far as misfire, I'd focus on base engine testing - perform a compression test to see if you have a cylinder issue. Then, check spark plugs - how do the electrodes look, and is there any cracked porcelain? Then check ignition wires. "Seemed in good condition" - based on what? Spark arcing can definitely cause this misfire you speak of. You say you don't want to know or need to know where shops are -- you want an answer. How can a guy like me at my computer know what's wrong with your truck without testing it first hand? And I can't - I'm just here to give advice and direction. I'm not here to guess, and can't possibly guess without knowing much much more about the vehicle history and current physical condition. That's why a repair shop near you is essential.
