Most obd2 scanners aren't self powered. They get their power through the connector. The power usually shares a fuse with the cigarette lighter. a lot of cell phone chargers will pop that fuse. I'd start there

Thank you. My obd connection IS on a common fuse with the cigarette lighter that was blown.!!!
