Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like changing the throttle position sensor may have caused some issues with the transmission and engine performance. The symptoms you're describing—high idle, difficulty shifting gears, and poor acceleration—could indicate a few potential issues: Improper Installation: Double-check that the new throttle position sensor (TPS) is installed correctly and securely connected. Ensure it's aligned properly with the throttle body. TPS Calibration: Some TPSs require calibration after installation. Follow the manufacturer's instructions or consult a mechanic to calibrate it correctly. Transmission Linkage: Verify that the transmission linkage is properly connected and not damaged. Misalignment or damage can prevent proper gear shifting. Electrical Connections: Inspect all electrical connections related to the TPS and transmission. Loose or damaged connections can cause erratic behavior. Since the problem persists even after replacing the TPS, it may be beneficial to have a mechanic perform a diagnostic scan to check for error codes and assess the overall health of the transmission and engine systems. They can pinpoint the issue and recommend necessary repairs. I hope this helps get your S10 running smoothly again! If you have any other questions, please call us at 877-913-1554!
