when getting my 1992 chevy s10 v-6 smogged reading says too much oxygen.Why?

Too much oxygen would be a intake leak you can test if your intake is leaking by letting it idal and spray break cleaner by the intake if it revs up its leaking if not it could be bad o2 sensor just saying there is too much o2
