humming from under rear trunk

It sounds to me like the fuel pump is staying engaged - I would locate and remove the fuel pump relay and see if your noise goes away - If it does your repair may be as simple as installing a new fuel pump relay - Relays can stick, usually this is cause from the starting / charging system having low voltage. So even if the relay fixes the noise - be sure to check your battery and alternator for proper operation
