Why does my radiator fan stay running when it should stop and causes it to overheat? Some type of loose wire connection.

What is your question?

My radiator fan stays running when it should shut off causing my car to overheat. The problem is random, it happened today, prior to today, about a year ago. When it's starts occuring it continues to happen every couple days until a specific wire is played with and tightened, I do not know the name of the wire. Also, as of this winter, I only get heat if the switch is on the defrost selection.
