My blower motor doesn't always work.

What is your question?

My blower motor, only in winter, doesn't always work. It will usually work when I start the car. Once I start driving, it stops working. It will usually work and stop when I hit bumps. Other times it works, I hit a bump, then it won't come back on. The colder it is outside, the harder it is for me to have it keep working.

Replace the blower motor, and check the connector to the blower resister/module.

Where is the blower resister?

ProfessorGon Feb 10, 2014

Next to the blower motor under right side of the dash, The blower wire harness come from it.

That would make it not work in the winter?

If the brushes or bushings are going bad, the colder weather will contract it. You know 'everything doesn't like the cold' Lol

Now I just need to wait for a warm day to do it. Or build a garage. Thanks,

I thought everybody had a garage to keep the babies warm. If you have trouble let me know.

This is a very difficult situation to provide an accurate diagnosis without having the vehicle at our shop. However, some of the common failures that could result in the symptoms you are describing are: Failing blower motor, failing blower motor resistor or switch, and/or burned terminals on the electrical connector(s) to the blower motor, blower motor switch, and/or the blower motor resistor. If you are unfamiliar with the system and/or unfamiliar with electrical testing, your best option is to bring it to a professional repair shop for proper diagnosis. We are located in Uxbridge and we'd be glad to look at it for you if you'd like.
